COVID VACCINE IN PATIENTS WITH HEMOPHILIA. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Based on medical recommendations, Hemohermanos listed things that patients with Bleeding disorders should consider when receiving the vaccine COVID-19.


Note:

1. In principle, the person who has hemophilia IS NOT MORE VULNERABLE to COVID–19.


2. THERE ARE NO specific CONTRAINDICATIONS for patients with a bleeding disorder receiving the vaccine.


3. TREATMENT WITH FACTOR is recommended 30 minutes or a maximum hour before vaccination.


4. If possible, ask your healthcare provider to use a small needle size.  (25-27) could be USED.


AFTER THE VACCINE


5. APPLY PRESSURE to the site for at least 10 minutes after injection to prevent bleeding and reduce swelling.


6. Also recommended to USE ICE on the part of the arm where the vaccine was applied.


7. Arm discomfort for a day or two after injection is typical. If you think you are getting worse or have an allergic reaction, check with your doctor.
